Brian J. McAuliffe brings over 40 years of legal expertise to his Eastern Panhandle law practice, having practiced formerly in Northern West Virginia, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Minnesota. He is a graduate of Providence College and Northeastern College of Law. He is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, the Massachusetts Supreme Judical Court, the United States District Court for Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and, additionally, has previously been admitted to practice before the Minnesota Supreme Court, the New Mexico Supreme Court, the United States District Court for Minnesota and the United States District Court for New Mexico.
Mr. McAuliffe has had extensivie public service legal experience including serving as the Executive Director of the Indian Legal Assistance Program in Duluth, Minnesota, Deputy Director of Legal Assistance of Ramsey County, St. Paul, Minnesota, Director of the Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services program in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Director of the North Central West Virginia Legal Aid Program in Morgantown West Virginia. From 1987 through 1992 Mr. McAuliffe was an attorney and managing attorney with the UAW-GM Legal Services Plan in Natick, Massachusetts. Mr. McAuliffe's private practice experience has included working with the firm of Mason, Goldman and McAuliffe in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Jaffe Law Firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Hamstead & Associates, LC in Charles Town, West Virginia. Mr. McAulife also served as an adjunct faculty in the clinical law program at the West Virginia University College of Law. Mr. McAuliffe has been in private practice in Martinsburg, West Virginia since January, 2007.
Brian McAuliffe has practiced in a variety of areas, including litigation and appellate work, real estate, wills and estates, unemployment appeals, zoning and land use planning, intellectual property licensing, small business representation, representation of nonprofit corporations, juvenile representation, criminal representation, domestic relations and bankruptcy. While happy to counsel clients on any civil matter, Mr. McAuliffe currently focuses his practice on bankruptcy, unfair debt collection, divorce, small business formation and representation and wills and end of life planning.
